Cortex beta terms

These terms describe access to the Cortex website and private beta provided by Gen7 Labs, Inc., doing business as Cortex (“we,” “us”). Gen7 Labs, Inc. is incorporated in Delaware and operates from New Haven, Connecticut, United States. Please read these terms and our privacy policy before requesting or using access.

1. Invitations and eligibility

Cortex is invite-only. Requesting an invitation does not guarantee access or create an account. We review requests and may limit access, features, or capacity during testing.

You must be at least 13. If you are 13–17, your parent or guardian must request access, give permission, and review these terms with you before you use Cortex. Parents and guardians should understand any assigned history-review access. The public beta is not offered to children under 13.

2. Your account

Provide accurate contact information, protect your sign-in and invitation codes, and use only accounts and content you are authorized to access. Do not share private access codes or use someone else’s account without permission. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. AI results and your decisions

Cortex can produce inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading answers, citations, calculations, and summaries. A confident answer or a web-search result is not a guarantee of correctness. Check important details against reliable sources before relying on them.

Cortex is not an emergency service or a substitute for qualified medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Do not use it as the sole basis for decisions affecting someone’s health, safety, legal rights, or access to essential services.

4. Connected services and approvals

Google sign-in and optional Gmail/Calendar connections are separate. Connect only services you are authorized to use. Supported actions that change email, calendar events, or persistent memories are presented for review. Check the recipient, wording, dates, time zone, and scope before approving. Your approval authorizes the specific displayed action; it does not guarantee that an external provider will complete it.

You can disconnect services or revoke their permissions. External services, websites, Apple distribution, and Google sign-in remain subject to their own terms and availability.

5. Your content and our brand

You retain the rights you have in content you provide. You authorize us to process, store, transmit, and display it as needed to operate Cortex, carry out your instructions, and protect the service, as described in the privacy policy. Only upload content you have permission to use.

AI output may not be unique or eligible for copyright protection and may resemble other material. These terms do not give you rights in someone else’s content. The Cortex name, artwork, website design, and software remain owned by or licensed to Gen7 Labs, Inc.; using the beta does not transfer those rights.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Cortex to violate the law or others’ rights, exploit or endanger children, send abusive or deceptive communications, distribute malware, access accounts without permission, or defeat authentication, approval controls, or service limits. Do not overload the service or attempt to extract another user’s private data.

7. An evolving beta

Features, limits, models, and availability may change. The service may be interrupted or contain errors, and we do not promise uninterrupted access, perfect accuracy, or permanent storage. Keep your own copies of important material. A feature shown in an illustrative website example is not an action performed on your account.

The invitation form does not start a paid subscription or authorize a charge. Any future paid offering will have its pricing and payment terms presented separately before you agree to purchase it.

8. Ending access and deleting information

You can stop using Cortex at any time and contact us to request account deletion. We may restrict or end access when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate misuse, comply with law, or end the beta. Where practical and appropriate, we will explain the restriction. Content deletion, retained backups, and connected-service data are described in our privacy policy.

9. Service limitations and applicable rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the beta is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a promise that it will meet every need or be free of errors. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms do not require arbitration or waive rights that applicable law gives you.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as Cortex develops. The date above identifies the current version; material changes will be communicated as appropriate. If you do not agree to revised terms, stop using the service and contact us about your data.
